Building in, on and with water

SGS INTRON has the ambition to promote the inclusion of water as a design principle for the built environment: through

research focussed on the influence of water on materials and structures, through the development of guidelines, standards

and legislation and through disseminating our experiences in workshops, articles and our expert system on floating structures.

SGS INTRON Water is working on a variety of projects. Here are a few examples:

• development of an expert system for the design and maintenance of float homes;
• inventory of foreign legislation;
• development of a Dutch standard for float homes.
